Don't let minor damage compromise the safety and look of your valuable playground surface. Our Wetpour Repair Kit provides everything you need to seamlessly and permanently repair damaged EPDM surfacing like a professional. Designed for ease of use, the kit includes the precise ratio of high-quality EPDM rubber granules and our crystal-clear, UV-stable Aliphatic binder, eliminating any guesswork.
Whether you're fixing small holes from vandalism, cracks from ground movement, or worn areas under swings and at slide exits, this kit is your go-to solution. The repaired patch will cure to the same durable, impact-absorbent, and vibrant finish as the original surface, effectively preventing further deterioration and restoring the area to EN 1177 safety standards. It's the most cost-effective way to extend the life of your playground and ensure it remains safe and visually appealing.
Use a Wetpour Repair Kit for:
Localized Damage: Small to medium-sized holes, cracks, or worn patches (typically up to 1-2 square metres in total).
Vandalism: Punctures or cuts in an otherwise healthy surface.
Wear & Tear: Worn areas under high-traffic points like swings and slide exits.
Recent Damage: If the bulk of the surface is still in good condition (less than 7-8 years old, still flexible).
Consider a Full Replacement when:
Widespread Cracking: The surface has numerous cracks across показывает its entirety, indicating the base layer has failed or the rubber has become brittle.
Granule Loss: The top layer is crumbling and shedding granules over a large area.
Hardening Surface: The playground feels hard underfoot, meaning the rubber has lost its elasticity and is no longer providing adequate fall protection.
Age: The surface is beyond its expected lifespan (typically 8-10 years) and is showing multiple signs of failure.
In short, a repair kit is the perfect tool for targeted fixes on a surface that is otherwise in good health. If the entire surface is failing, a repair is only a temporary fix, and a full replacement is the safer and more cost-effective long-term option.

When should I use a repair kit vs. replacing the surface?

Required Tools
Included in Kit:
- Pre-measured EPDM Granules & Aliphatic Binder
- Nitrile Gloves & Mixing Tub
- Wooden Spatula & Instructions
You Will Also Need:
- Sharp Stanley Knife / Craft Knife
- Steel Float Trowel
- Small container of white spirit (for cleaning the trowel)
- Stiff Brush & Dustpan
Step 1: Prepare the Damaged Area
Proper preparation is the key to a strong, permanent bond.
- Cut Out the Damage: Using a sharp Stanley knife, cut around the damaged section to create a clean, regular shape (a square or rectangle is best) with neat, vertical edges. Remove all loose and damaged EPDM material from within this shape.
- Clean Thoroughly: Vigorously brush out the newly cut hole to remove all loose debris, dust, and dirt. The base (usually black SBR rubber or concrete) must be completely clean and dry for the new material to bond to it.
Step 2: Mixing the Repair Materials
Always mix the materials just before you are ready to apply them.
- Put on Gloves: Wear the nitrile gloves provided. The binder is extremely sticky.
- Combine Materials: Empty the bag of EPDM granules into the mixing tub provided. Pour the entire bottle of Aliphatic Binder over the granules.
- Mix Completely: Using the spatula, mix the binder and granules together thoroughly for 2-3 minutes. Ensure every single granule is coated in a uniform, glossy film. Scrape the sides and bottom of the tub to ensure no dry granules remain.
Step 3: Applying the Repair Mix
Work quickly once the material is mixed to ensure a smooth application.
- Fill the Hole: Pour the mixed material from the tub directly into the clean, prepared hole.
- Spread Evenly: Use the tip of your steel trowel to spread the mixture evenly throughout the patch, making sure it fills all the corners. The material should be slightly proud of the surrounding surface.
- Trowel Smooth: Using firm, downward pressure on your steel trowel, compact the mixture and smooth it until it is perfectly level and flush with the existing surface. For the smoothest finish, regularly wipe your trowel blade with a cloth lightly dampened with white spirit to prevent it from sticking.
Step 4: Curing
The final step is to allow the patch to fully cure and harden.
- Protect the Area: The patch is now complete. Cordon off the repaired area to prevent anyone from walking on it while it cures.
- Allow to Cure: The surface requires approximately 24 hours to become tack-free and safe for light foot traffic. Full chemical curing will take 3-5 days.
